Day 1 : Tambolaka - Manola Traditional Village - Mananga Aba Beach
Let the adventure begin!
Your driver-tour guide will pick you up at your arrival airport, Tambolaka (TMC) and head to Manola Traditional Village. This village located on the top of hill. People who stay there are hospitable and nice. They do their daily life traditionally.
From Manola, We continue to Mananga Aba Beach to see the sunset.
Check in at the hotel and have dinner at the Restaurant.
Day 2 : Weekuri Lagoon - Mandorak Beach - Ratenggaro Village - Pero Beach
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. Time to explore Kodi area. Experience the beauty of Weekuri Lagoon. A lagoon with the fresh water. Feel free to swim here. Its blue clear water comes from the sea blocking by the rocks. The view from the cliff top is amazing.
Lunch box at Mandorak Beach. Mandorak is a small white sand beach, with the reef cliff on both sides, facing one and another. It’s nice to look around along the coastline from here.
Ratenggaro Village and Beach will be the next destination. Houses in Ratenggaro have the highest rooftop in the island. The village also close to the Indian Ocean.
Continue to Pero Beach, 20 minutes from Ratenggaro. Pero is a very good spot for seeing the sunset. You can enjoy the sunset here before back to Tambolaka to have dinner.
Day 3 : Weekacura - Praiijing Village - Wairinding Hills
Check out from the hotel after breakfast, you will head to Waikelo Sawah, a cave with a large source of water. Enjoy the view while walking towards Weekacura, a beautiful river in the midle of ricefiled where we can swim and relax.
Having lunch at Waikabubak.
There is one of popular village you may visit on the way to East of Sumba. It is Praiijing, in the countryside of Waikabubak. Like the other village, The structures, indeed, become the main attraction that tourists can find in the village. The good thing is that tourists can do many things related to these houses, including photography and exploration.
One more, experiencing Hills of Wairinding, 30 minutes from Waingapu. Capturing the beautiful scenery of the hundreds of hills that lined up neatly. This place became famous for being used as filming, The Golden Cane Warrior.Continue drive to Waingapu, Capital of East Sumba. Check in Hotel and have dinner.
Day 4 : Tanggedu Waterfall - Puru Kambera - Artshop
You will start the day to explore Tanggedu Waterfall. The waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and is characterized by its multi-tiered cascade, which creates a mesmerizing sight. Many visitors are drawn to Tanggedu Waterfall for its serene atmosphere and the opportunity to swim in its cool, refreshing pools. It's often considered one of the hidden gems of Sumba Island, offering a chance to experience the beauty of Indonesia's natural landscapes away from the crowds.
Savannah - Puru Kambera Beach. The beach is quite wide with a stretch of white sand. Not only the beauty of the beach, the savanna can also be enjoyed, especially because of the presence of horses that roam freely.
From Puru Kambera, You go to the artshop to see the process of Traditional Ikat Textile Weaving. Made using the ikat dyeing technique, where threads are dyed before weaving to create complex, symmetrical designs, these textiles often feature geometric patterns and motifs inspired by local culture and mythology. Each piece is a reflection of the artistry and craftsmanship of the Sumbanese people, often used in ceremonial attire and significant cultural events. The textiles are not only valued for their beauty but also for their cultural significance and the stories they tell about the community.
Dinner and back to Hotel
Day 5 : Waimarang Waterfall - Rende Village - Walakiri Beach
Another day, another waterfall. You can spend your 5th in Sumba by traveling to Waimarang Waterfall. It is one of the island's most stunning waterfalls, known for its picturesque setting and crystal-clear blue pools. The waterfall cascades down into a series of natural pools surrounded by lush greenery, making it a popular spot for visitors looking to experience the island's natural beauty. The area around Waimarang is relatively pristine, offering a serene and tranquil environment, perfect for swimming and enjoying the natural landscape.
Praiyawang/Rende Village
The megalithic tombs in Praiyawang Village are significant cultural and historical landmarks. These tombs are large, stone structures used for the burial of prominent individuals and are deeply embedded in the local customs and beliefs of the Sumbanese. The tombs typically consist of large stones arranged in a formations. These stones are often intricately carved or adorned with symbols that hold cultural or spiritual meaning.
From Praiyawang, We will bring you to Walakiri Beach. We will see some unique pygmy mangroves, a perfectly sandy bottom for walking and lines of coconut trees giving shelter. This beach is one of the paradisiacal place to be at sunset. Dinner and back to Hotel
Day 6 : Waingapu Airport
This is your last day in Sumba. We will transfer you to Waingapu Airport (WGP).
